Stay-cation: Day 1

Day 1 of my stay-cation is essentially in the books. How did I spend this first day of stay-cation, you ask? Well, it started off with a belated Mother’s Day lunch at Ray’s Cafe.

I was glad that the weather was decent at the restaurant because Miss B and I had to drive through a heavy rain squall on the way. And it would have been a shame, had it put a damper on my after-lunch plans. Lunch was a nice time – just 4 generations of women from my side. And we got some good photo-opt time outside afterwards.

Next up on the “agenda” for Miss B and I was the Locks.

And this little guy was one of the first things we encountered.

He was quite the friendly character – definitely not afraid of people. He even followed us around the park for a bit until he found some other suckers who actually had food for him. And here are some other pictures from our little excursion.

All in all, I don’t think Miss B was all that impressed with the Locks. She kept asking to leave to go get ice cream. Although we did see a sea lion frolicking in the water as it poured out of the dam. And she thought these two little pigeons pecking at each other was the funniest thing.

On the way home, I went ahead and stopped at Baskin & Robbins. I felt I owed Miss B because I had promised her an ice cream outing last weekend, and didn’t follow through. So to make up for it, not only did we stop today – but I bought her a whole pint to bring home. So she’ll get more than just a single scoop out of the deal. I don’t think she’ll have any complaints about that.

Once home, I was feeling just drained and laid down for a little catnap. Only to have it turn into a 3-hour power nap. You’d think I’d feel on top of the world and raring to go right about now. But to be honest, I feel like I could just hit the hay for the night. Of course, if I did, I’m sure I’d be up way before the crack of dawn tomorrow. So, here I am – blogging about Day 1 and trying to muster up some energy to go do something productive.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Until tomorrow, have a good night!
