For Rent

Okay, I've got another one. About 5 months ago, I moved offices and thus have a new daily route to work. And everyday over the last past months, I have driven by a house with a sign at the end of the driveway that says "For Rent". I haven't ever really taken much notice of the sign, other than it being there - because frankly, I'm not looking to rent anything. But this morning, it donned on me that this "For Rent" sign has been out there every day for the past 5 months. And heck, who knows how long it had been out there before I started commuting this way.

So that leads me to today's pondering. What is this person trying to rent? I assumed maybe a house. Or maybe it is just a room/space (like the lower level). Because it does look like someone has been living there the whole time. Wouldn't you think that if you haven't gotten any takers in at least 5 months, that just maybe this sign (at the end of the driveway) isn't doing the trick? Plus it isn't like this is on a major street. I suppose it is for those of us commuting. But I can probably bet that the majority of us who do drive by this house every day, probably don't need a place to rent. Or maybe there is just something seriously wrong with the place (ie: cleaned up crime scene - I seriously watch too much CSI). This house is in a nice neighborhood - which I guess just adds to the perplexity.

I don't know - just another one of those oddities of my morning commute. Have a great day!
