I haven’t had much crafty time this week, much less been in the creative mood – so I thought I would share some of my favorite blogs reads again.
- Annette’s Creative Journey – I love this altered frame she made using scraps and a wood frame she got at Michael’s for $1. Plus she posted a video tutorial where I spied that she, too, used a quilter's ruler when papercrafting. My kind of gal.
- Taylored Expressions – Taylor’s got a great gift for everyone who signs up for a 6-month subscription to her monthly kits. TE is one of my new favorite companies to follow right now. She is smokin’ fast in shipping out products. And USPS must like my address because I swear it only takes 2 days to get here. (Shipping times from a other companies are a hot point with me right now.)
- Cupcake Project – these granola cupcakes look interesting. And she posted the recipe for making the granola earlier in the week (here). Given that we are trying to eat healthier, I am intrigued about trying both of these recipes.
Lastly, and on a completely unrelated note, I want to send out some big hugs and prayers to a couple of dear friends (they should know who they are if they read this). I received “less than happy” news from both of them today and my heart just aches thinking about it/them. I hope they both can find some level of peace sooner rather than later. And hopefully, they both know to “just say the word” if they need anything. Anything at all.
So with that, the weekend is near. Curt is playing in a father/son golf tournament on Saturday. And we’re still trying to figure out what to do on Sunday for Father’s Day. I’m thinking of maybe heading down to the Dahlia Bakery for one of those yummy breakfast sandwiches I posted about a few weeks ago. Although I suppose that is more about what I want to do than what Curt wants to do. I may have to bribe, I mean negotiate, by taking him to the Brew Festival. And hopefully, we’ll get some decent weather.
Speaking of the weather - they posted an interesting fact on the news this morning. Here in the Seattle area, we have yet to hit 75 degrees this year. However, in Alaska – they have already had 3 days above 75 degrees. What is up with that? Have a good Friday/weekend!
