Quinoa & Wild Rice Sliders

Ok, yes – another post about food. I was looking through the posts of my stay-cation and realized there were a lot of posts about food. And not very many posts about craftiness. I hope you will forgive me.

Yesterday, I went down to the cafeteria to grab some lunch. We have a lot of options and it took me two rounds of walking around looking at everything before I made my decision. But these caught my eye on the first pass.

I didn’t know what they were, but they sure looked good and promising. (Sorry the picture is a little blurry.) On my second pass, I stopped to take another look. And as if it was fate, the “chef” pointed out that they had samples. And that was the end. One bite was all it took. Quinoa and Wild Rice Sliders with a Corn/Jalapeno salsa. Yum!

I hope they make these babies part of the regular menu. And it would be great if they let us choose how many we want. Between the quinoa and the bread, three sliders is a bit much. Plus, I’m not a big jalapeno fan, so I would have been perfectly happy after the second one. I’m not sure how well these would reheat and it would be a shame to have to throw one away.
