We decided to take the whole week off to spend some quality family time together. Something that is just so easy to bypass in the normal hustle and bustle of everyday life. When we woke up this morning and walked out into the living room (at the "cabin"), we were greeted by the most tranquil scene. The sun was out. There was a nice layer of dew on the golf course. And not a soul in sight. Such a beautiful and peaceful setting. The only thing missing were some of the new baby deer that we've seen in the neighborhood.
Speaking of deer. I haven't seen our mama deer since we've been down here at the cabin. All summer long, we played host to a mama and her two offspring. Everyday around 2:00, you could see them taking a leisurely afternoon rest in our yard. I really hope nothing has happen to her. See, last winter/early spring, she broke her leg. And apparently it healed broken and she went on to have two offspring. I don't really know the lifespan of a deer - other than many probably die before their time due to collisions with cars. So, I'll have to ask Curt if he has seen her. And if she did pass, hopefully another deer family will adopt us. Because it is the coolest thing to see them up so close.
Back to Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a great holiday. We are hosting dinner for about 15 and Miss B and I will start on the preparations this afternoon. Miss B is so excited to help me make pumpkin pie. May you enjoy your time with family, whether that be a close intimate affair or full blown out feast with lots of people.
