Studio J Release

Exciting news – Close to My Heart has released “Studio J”! What is “Studio J”, you ask?

Studio J™ is online design software that allows you to create custom-printed two-page layouts to put in your albums. There is no software to purchase and install; instead, simply log in to Studio J (click here) and start designing your layouts! You can create and immediately purchase your layouts, or you can save them for later completion and purchase.

I will admit that I had mixed feelings about Studio J when I first tested it out a couple of months ago. I struggle with juggling my love for the tactile aspect of scrapbooking and the ease and quickness of digital scrapbooking. And it is possible to do both – either intermingling the two formats in your albums or creating a hybrid layout where you add embellishments to the layouts once you receive them.

But when it comes down to it, here are the top things that I love about Studio J:

  • Ease of use and quickness to complete a layout.

  • Use of CTMH’s beautiful papers and coordinating stickease and embellishments.

  • Layouts from Cherish and Imagine – with the ability to see multiple paper combinations/options without having to cut a single piece of paper.

  • A great design tool – if I decide I want to traditionally scrapbook some pictures, I can use Studio J to help me plan my layouts.

Here is a layout I “threw” together this afternoon. I don’t think it took me more than 20 minutes. Isn’t that great?

I have to admit that in spite of my love for traditional scrapbooking, life has been really busy of late. And it feels so good to have created something in such a short time. I highly encourage you to check it out. Another beauty of Studio J is that using the software is FREE! You only pay for the layouts you want to purchase. So head on over to my CTMH website (http://www.charlenew.myctmh.com/) and take it for a test run today.

I used the Windows snipping tool. When you open the snipping tool, your screen should look like it is masked. You then click with your mouse to drag a box around your layout. Then save as a jpeg image. You should now be able to upload to your blog.
