Within the next 2 weeks, I will become an aunt for the first time. My sister is ready for Cadence to arrive, but her official due date is something like February 4th. For the past couple of months, I've been working on a "memory box" which includes birth announcements and a memory album. Well, I finally finished it and gave it to my sister last night. I'll be honest - I wasn't sure how it would be received. I didn't want my sister to feel like I was forcing her to "scrap". But I figured it couldn't hurt to give her something that she could just slap pictures on. And I wanted to make sure I gave it to her before Cadence arrived so that she could think about types of pictures to capture. I wish I had done that before Miss B was born.
Anyways, I've put together a slideshow of the finished album. You can also see the matching birth announcement on page 2. The album was created using primarily the CTMH Creative Basics kit in Emporium, with added cardstock in Vineyard Berry, Sweet Leaf, and Twilight. Other products used included CTMH rub-ons, CTMH Homestead Alphabet, PTI Ribbon in Spring Moss, and some miscellaneous flowers I had on hand.
We also had a family birthday party yesterday - and I made this quick card for my aunt. Again, I'm using the CTMH Creative Basics in Emporium along with rub-ons and Colonial White ribbon. Inside the card is a little "pocket" for gift cards/money.
Have a great rest of the weekend! I'm hoping to spend some more time crafting today. But I've also got regular household stuff that needs to get done. So we will see.

Charlene,
That album is so cute! Your sister will love it even though she doesn't scrap. My sister was the one to introduce me to scrapping and I'm glad she did. When she gave me homemade cards I thought they were so much more personal than store bought. I can't believe I used to tease her how scrappin' was a waste of time and money.Ha Ha the laugh is on me know! Great work!
