Feast or Famine

Or should I just say mostly famine? I'd sure like to know how time flies by so fast. And I'd like to know what is taking up all of my time away from crafting. The lack of crafting certainly isn't from a lack of want. Of course, if I really stop to think about it - there has been a lot going on the past couple of weeks. One - I turned 40. I had the highest hopes of taking my birthday off. And the day after, which when combined with the 4th of July weekend, would have been a nice long 5 day weekend. But that didn't happen because the second thing that has been consuming my time is work. Funny thing about working in a finance related role and when fiscal year end rolls around, everyone is at the mercy of the calendar. There are no days off. And it usually entails putting in some extra hours. So I guess, in a nutshell that is where my time has gone.

Going back to turning 40. I have to say that I had the best birthday party ever. We had an informal get together here at the house with 30+ of our closest family and friends. It was blazing hot that day and mid-afternoon, finding shade is difficult. But we turned on the sprinkler - and even the adults took a few passes through it. I loved how most everyone we invited was able to come and it was a low-key, kick back good time. And the food was pretty darn tasty to boot.

Last weekend, I did get a few hours to work on scrappin'. Mostly just sorting through photos and coming up with a plan. I've got big plans to scrap Friday night and I want to make sure I actually get something done. I feel pretty good with my plans so far - photos sorted and sketches planned for about 30 pages. I just need to go through and select which papers I want to use. I don't think I'll come close to finishing the 30 pages, but at least with a plan, I should be able to make a dent.

Hope all is well with everyone else and that you have beautiful weather to enjoy. Cross your fingers for me that I get alot done Friday night. And with a little luck, hopefully I'll get to make a card or two to share as well.
