Okay, so I don't usually post personal stuff on my blog, but today/tomorrow are very special days to me and I feel the need to type it out. 4 years ago today, Curt and I spent the entire day in the hospital trying to bring our precious Miss B into this world. Even after all this time, I still get a chuckle thinking about that morning. It was a Sunday and I had gotten up around 6:00 to go to the bathroom - well, my water decided to break (3 1/2 weeks early). The funny part about the story (and sorry if this is too much information for some readers) is that my water only gushed if I stood up. So I remember calling out to Curt from the bathroom, trying to wake him up and to let him know that it was time. But I was also kind of in a pickle because I wasn't too sure how I was going to get myself from the bathroom, down the stairs, and into the car to go to the hospital. Because remember, my water was only a problem if I stood up. I eventually had Curt bring me the phone so that I could call the hospital to ask what I should do. It tooks us about an hour or so to get out the door and to the hospital. Thankfully, I hadn't really gone into labor yet, so we had some time for last minute errands like paying bills, and stopping for a coffee for Curt on the way. It ended up being a really long day at the hospital. Miss B just wasn't really in a hurry to come out. We went through something like 4 shifts of nurses. I think the whole thing was harder on Curt than on me - but he didn't have the benefit of an epidural to help him through the day. After 18+ hours of "labor" (which it really wasn't labor for me because of the epi), Miss B finally came into the world. One of the most amazing moments was that she was screaming/crying like there was no tomorrow. But she instantly calmed down when we started talking to her. It was just so amazing to see that our voices would bring her calm so quickly like that. In hindsight, it makes sense - but in the moment, it is one of the most wonderful feelings.

So there you have it. Tomorrow, my baby turns 4. I can't believe how time has flown by. She is such a smart, intuitive, and sassy little girl, whom I love to pieces.
